Google's Android 17 update is finally here, bringing a host of new features to Pixel phones. The update also includes Screen Reactions, which simplifies the process of recording selfie videos while screen-recording, making it easier to create reaction videos for social media. Another notable feature is the introduction of new gaming controls for foldables, which display a touchscreen gamepad on the bottom half of the screen, allowing for a more immersive gaming experience. Additionally, Android phones will now support native controller remapping, further enhancing gaming capabilities. Parental controls and security features have also been expanded, providing users with more peace of mind. For Pixel phones, there are some exclusive features, such as the ability to create video from text prompts with the Gemini Omni model and generate music with Lyria 3. AirDrop support through Quick Share is expanding to the Pixel 8A and 9A, while Voice Translate for phone calls is coming to the 10A. Take a Message will now be available on every Pixel from the 6 onwards, except in India. Google Photos' conversational editing feature is expanding to several European countries, and Magic Cue suggestions will appear in new messaging apps. While some features are still in the works, Android 17 is a significant step forward for Pixel users, offering a range of improvements and new capabilities that will enhance the overall user experience.
